From old to most beautiful

Regularly an heir piece is delivered to LC, that- damaged and under a big layer of dust- has to be wrested from oblivion. That is beautiful work, tells owner LZ. Time has put it's teeth in the piece of furniture. It is then up to me to give it back it's glory.

The assignment that Zwinkels gives himself for every restoration: bring back the origin of the object! To achieve that, he applies numerous treatments that go together well with the specific wood type and with the materials the furniture originally has been treated with. This can be polishing, varnish or wax finish, gilding, repairing furniture fittings, leather, material and many, many other treatments. They have to correspond with the original style and the era in which the furniture or art piece have been produced.
Sometimes the plan of attack is solely conservation: conserve what is there and prevent further decay, like woodworm and fungus control.

As far as furniture has a soul, I want to see that soul back, says LC passionately.
